The REHL Survey
FAQs and Next Steps
Information
Next Steps - What Happens after I Take the Survey?

1
Data Acquisition
MAILER CARD -
Survey invitations are sent via EDDM to specific mail routes and/or neighborhoods.
30 Days after the card is delivered to a neighborhood or area, summary data can be provided upon request by residents of those neighborhoods or areas at no charge.
To request this information, simply make the request through our "Contact Us" page.

OPEN OR SOCIAL MEDIA INVITES -
You can request the same information, though you should be aware that data will not be as thorough as opposed to EDDM areas.
If you as either a resident or board member wish to request an EDDM invitation, you may contact us to make arrangements to do so.
2
Advocacy Support
If you, as a resident of a neighborhood, would like more information on creating a neighborhood advocacy group, on educating yourself and/or neighbors as to your rights and responsibilities as an association member, understanding association laws and/or governing documents, or any other information you need, you may contact us with that request.
You may also schedule a live presentation of any one of the REHL Lectures for you and your neighbors. There is no charge to homeowners for presentations.
We also have numerous contacts and resources available to help you.
3
Association Board Consultations
If you are a member of an association's board, you may request a more in-depth and detailed report of the data for your neighborhood. This will also include a summary of the positive highlights as well as specific concerns voiced by resident members.
Given that this will include detailed data, the cost of conducting the survey for your specific neighborhood will be charged to the specific board member of your choosing.
This is in alignment with our Terms and Conditions for Consultation Engagement with association boards.
To inquire more or request detailed reports, please submit your request through the "Contact Us" page after reviewing our Engagement Terms and Conditions.
If desired, we can also provide more in-depth breakdowns of possible concerns after reviewing association governing documents and policies in conjunction with the data from the REHL survey.
Lecture presentations are also available to boards upon request for a modest fee.
The REHL Survey FAQs
If you have a question that is not answered here, please send it to us via our Contact Us page.
Is there any way my HOA can find out that I answered and how I answered?
The survey itself does NOT ask for any personal information. You are only asked for demographic information: State, County, City, Neighborhood, and Name of Association.
All efforts will be made to redact any kind of identifying information in survey results; HOWEVER, respondents are strongly urged to not provide any information that they do not wish to be made public. It is best not to give names or other personal information. Also, if you provide details which may identify you, that is at your discretion.
What is the information from the REHL survey used for?
This survey is meant to collect extensive data which will give any interested parties a "snapshot" of the HOA environment in the United States. Many surveys are not as thorough as this one, and many times they are created by and provided to industry supporters.
This is meant to collect as much objective data as possible to identify the overall environment, trouble spots (states, areas, neighborhoods), and to create ways to remedy the issues that are identified.
This information will be shared with residents, association boards, industry leaders, media, researchers, lawmakers, and anyone else with an interest in this information.
It is intended that it will be used to create systems of checks and balances, accountability, and stability within HOA neighborhoods and the housing industry itself.
Can I help with the REHL survey?
You bet!
The homeowner advocacy world needs all the support it can get. Reach out to us with your particular interest, and we can add you to our team of volunteers or connect you with other groups who have similar goals and aspirations.
At the very least, if you purchase merchandise through the REHL shop, the proceeds of that purchase will go toward funding REHL activities and operations, which are usually out-of-pocket. It is also intended that proceeds will go to help homeowner victims of HOA abuse if and when possible.
REHL receives about $5 per t-shirt, for example, as we wish to keep costs low for purchasers. Every bit helps!
